Originally birthed in Milwaukee, WI, Park N Murray is a musical duo that, with the help of producer Mammyth, have been controlling instrumentals.
The group was formed by lead member Branden Rex and household roommates on the corner of Park and Murray in 2008, which is located on Milwaukee's eastside university campus.
What started out of sheer boredom and clouds of marijuana smoke later became a full time commitment to Rex and his younger brother Damien "Daytime" Kyle when the two moved with their mother to San Antonio, TX.
In San Antonio, Rex and Damien would rap and record over downloaded instrumentals via Garageband on their MacBook Pro laptop. The two quickly recorded a few low quality tracks and named themselves after their Milwaukee residence, Park N Murray.
With the company of a few loyal friends the group moved an hour north to the live music capitol of the world, Austin, TX. It was there that Park N Murray began to make a name for themselves.
They recorded and released their first EP entitled "Race Music" in the fall of 2010 and began performing all over town. Their catchy choruses, bouncy flows, and confident voices show in every track and quickly made the ears of even less than hip hop fans perk up. They've opened up for a handful of mainstream artists as well as local phenoms and, what seems like over night, have become a household name in the city of Austin.
The two started their own clothing line/promotion team, Calm Child Lifestyles. The brand not only pumps out unique threads that can be seen worn all over town, but it hosts events and books local and regional talent. They host a weekly hip hop night downtown at the Bat Bar every Monday and they've hosted countless other events around the city.
They've been featured in Study Breaks college magazine with a full page article and a cover spot. And done interviews with college radio and been featured on several blog spots around the web. The group is in the process of writing their first full length album which is planned to be released in the fall of 2012.
